A watermark is a statement about who may do what with a document: this is a draft, this is confidential, this copy belongs to this client. The documents that need such statements are, by definition, the ones that shouldn't wander through third-party servers on their way to being labeled.
ZorPDF stamps them at home. The text is drawn into each page with real transparency — visible without shouting over the content — and because re-running takes seconds, finding the right opacity for a particular document is painless.
What can the watermark say?+
Any text up to 60 characters — CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, DO NOT DISTRIBUTE, a client name, a date. It's stamped identically on every page, diagonally across the middle or horizontally centered.
How do I keep the watermark from obscuring the text?+
Use the opacity slider. Around 15–20% reads clearly as a stamp while leaving the content perfectly legible; higher values make the mark more assertive for drafts you actively don't want reused.
Can the watermark be removed later?+
It becomes part of the page content, like ink on paper — there's no one-click removal, which is the point of a watermark. Keep your unwatermarked original; you'll always have both versions.
Ironically — is my confidential file uploaded to be stamped CONFIDENTIAL?+
No, and that irony is exactly why this tool exists. The stamping happens in your browser; the file never touches a server.
